SoundCloud’s streaming service has officially taken the next step to level the playing field with its mobile competitors. The popular streaming service has launched a brand new subscription service dubbed “SoundCloud Go.” Starting at $9.99 USD per month, the app’s latest installment provides an ad-free experience along with offline listening and an expanded catalog.

The service will contain features to fight against streaming contenter Spotify, including offline streamingad-free listening, and a larger catalogue of music (around 100 million more tracks) thanks to its recent deals with Universal, Warner, and Sony Music.

Soundcloud’s offline streaming will work with all of your liked tracks and playlists for on-the-go listening.

Soundcloud Go will cost $9.99 per month (unless you download the iOS app, in which case it’s $12.99/mo). For music creators, Soundcloud is sure that the new paid service will help reach more listeners; however, most of the rhetoric in that part of their news blast refers back to advantages given to listeners, and why they might stay, rather than added features for creators. Lucky for creators though, they can try Soundcloud Go for $4.99 per month – but only if they already have a Pro Unlimited account, and only for the first six months.

Soundcloud has around 170 million monthly users. Modest estimates predict a  5-10% turnover rate from free users to subscription users, but even that could potentially create significant competition with Spotify. If you’d like to try it out, sign up for a free 30-day trial of SoundCloud Go through the latest version of the app. If you don’t don’t want to use Soundcloud Go, users are still able to access all of Soundcloud’s normal features for free.

SoundCloud Go is currently available now and offers a free 30-day trial as well.
