Coinciding with the 20th anniversary celebrations of globally renowned Dim Mak records, " I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead " takes a compelling look into the life and mind of captivating character - Grammy-nominated Steve Aoki. Premiered during 2016' Tribeca film festival in NYC, it will be available to watch next 19th August 2016 exclusively on Netflix.
Featuring cameo appearances from the likes of world tastemakers Diplo, Blink 182's Travis Barker & Pete Tong, the documentary was shot during the making of his "Neon Future" double album. It follows Steve Aoki on his journey in the lead-up to playing the biggest show of his career at Madison Square Garden - the introspective doc examining the driving force behind his passion. Daredevil showman, former Olympian, Benihana founder and Steve's looming father figure - the documentary centres around his complex yet loving relationship with his father Rocky Aoki.
In addition to this, the documentary follows the story of one of the most prestigious record labels from the ground up. Founded by Steve in 1996, Dim Mak Records has broken bands such as Bloc Party, The Bloody Beetroots, Klaxons, and The Gossip and has now put out over 500 releases to date.
