From Tribeca Film Festival to Netflix
Netflix has announced the release of Avicii - I’m Tim, a moving documentary exploring the life and legacy of Tim Bergling, the Swedish DJ and producer globally known as Avicii. Directed by Henrik Burman, the film features never-before-seen footage, intimate interviews, and narration from Bergling himself. Debuting at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year, the documentary chronicles his meteoric rise, artistic brilliance, and personal struggles leading up to his tragic passing in 2018.
Set to premiere on December 31, the film includes insights from David Guetta, Nile Rodgers, and Chris Martin of Coldplay. A standout moment from the documentary is its poignant tagline: “Before there was Avicii, there was just Tim.”
In addition, Netflix will also release 30min of Avicii’s final live show at Ibiza’s Ushuaïa, named 'Avicii - My Last Show' allowing fans to relive his iconic performance. This follows October’s charity auction of his personal items, which raised over $750,000 for The Tim Bergling Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting mental health initiatives for young people.
This heartfelt tribute promises to shed light on the boy behind Avicii, offering a deeper connection to the artist who defined a generation.
