Movement Detroit returns to Hart Plaza this Memorial Day Weekend, May 24–26, 2025, with a stellar first wave of artists. Known as a cornerstone of electronic music culture, the festival celebrates its techno roots while embracing diverse electronic sounds.
Carl Cox headliner & John Summit debuts
The 2025 lineup kicks off with Carl Cox delivering his renowned Hybrid Live Set, John Summit closing the festival, and Jamie xx, making his Movement debut following the release of his second album, In Waves. First-time performers also include UK producer Sammy Virji, Italian techno sensation Anfisa Letyago, Berlin-based DJ Gigola, and drum & bass icons Chase & Status.
“Movement is a techno institution in Detroit, like reuniting with an old friend. I’m bringing a show that will send Detroit to another dimension!”
Carl Cox
Detroit’s own techno pioneers Carl Craig and DJ Minx will take the stage, alongside international heavyweights like Marcel Dettmann, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Klangkuenstler, Patrick Topping, and Ela Minus. Local heroes HiTech, Detroit’s ghetto tech collective, add an authentic hometown vibe.
“It’s an honor to close such a legendary event. The energy in Detroit is unmatched.”
John Summit
Building on a 2024 edition that featured Fatboy Slim, James Blake, and Floating Points, Movement continues to honor its legacy while pushing electronic boundaries. Tickets for Movement Detroit 2025 are available now, with 3-day and 1-day passes for general admission and VIP. Payment plans are offered via the festival’s official website.
